About the Company
An established, fast-growing AI SaaS company building tools that turn customer interactions into structured data, insights, and actionable workflows for go-to-market teams.
Its AI platform helps enterprise sales organizations improve deal execution, forecast revenue, and automate manual work. The engineering organization has approximately 30 developers and is expanding its New York presence, with a focus on building a strong, collaborative team of product engineers.
The company offers direct access to senior leadership, a relatively flat structure, and significant investment in engineering productivity and internal tooling.
About the Role
The company is hiring an Infrastructure Tech Lead to serve as a senior technical anchor for its New York engineering team.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role, not an engineering management position. The successful candidate will own complex architectural decisions, lead high-impact engineering projects, mentor approximately 7–8 junior developers, and continue contributing directly to production code.
The team needs an engineer with deep distributed systems expertise and strong Go proficiency who can take ambiguous technical challenges through to production. The role also has a meaningful product engineering component: the hire is expected to own a flagship product feature within approximately six months.
Responsibilities
Lead architectural decisions across the AI agent platform.
Own complex backend and distributed systems challenges.
Drive major engineering projects from initial ambiguity through production.
Build and ship features directly, rather than operating solely in an advisory capacity.
Mentor and support 7–8 developers transitioning from forward-deployed engineering into software development.
Review code, establish strong engineering practices, and raise the team's technical standards.
Take ownership of a flagship product initiative within the first six months.
Work closely with engineering leadership and product stakeholders.
Use AI development tools as part of an AI-native engineering workflow.
Requirements
5–10 years of total engineering experience, ideally closer to 6–8 years.
At least 3 years at one company, demonstrating the ability to grow with a product and its architecture.
Previous experience as a tech lead or engineering lead; not a pure individual contributor or engineering manager profile.
Strong Go proficiency.
Deep, production-scale distributed systems experience.
Meaningful ownership of architecture in a B2B or product engineering environment.
Experience driving measurable product or business outcomes.
Daily use of AI development tools such as Claude, Opus, Cursor, or Codex.
