About the Company
An early-stage manufacturing technology company based in Toronto, building advanced components for customers across aerospace, robotics, and medical devices.
The company combines physical manufacturing with proprietary software, including an instant-quoting platform, internal operational tools, and a custom ERP system. Its engineering team works across software, firmware, and mechanical engineering.
About the Role
The company is looking for a hands-on full-stack engineer to build and improve software used directly in its manufacturing operations.
You’ll spend approximately 75% of your time developing software and 25% working on the factory floor with machinists and mechanical engineers. Rather than receiving fully defined product specifications, you’ll identify operational problems directly from users, build practical solutions, and iterate based on feedback.
This is an early-career opportunity for someone who enjoys building quickly, taking ownership, and seeing the real-world impact of their software.
Responsibilities
Maintain and develop the company's instant-quoting platform.
Build internal tools that improve manufacturing workflows.
Identify problems by working directly with machinists and mechanical engineers.
Turn operational feedback into practical software solutions.
Prototype quickly, release tools to users, and iterate based on adoption and feedback.
Take ownership of production uptime and resolve issues when the web platform goes down.
Requirements
1–3 years of full-stack software development experience; strong new graduates with relevant co-op or internship experience considered.
Experience building and shipping production web applications across frontend and backend.
Node.js experience or comparable JavaScript backend experience.
Ability to work with existing codebases and develop practical internal tools.
Proven ability to build prototypes quickly, work with ambiguous requirements, and iterate based on user feedback.
Comfortable troubleshooting production systems and taking ownership of uptime/on-call.
Genuine interest in manufacturing, hardware, robotics, or physical systems.
Willingness to work directly with machinists and mechanical engineers and learn their workflows.
Able to work fully in person in Toronto, approximately 60 hours per week.
